Fine Tattoo Work was established by Lucky Bastard in 2004. He began his tattoo career in 1989 and is world renowned for his traditional Americana and Japanese work. Fine Tattoo Work is now housed with some of the most talented and professional artists in the business.

WALK-INS WELCOME
We accept walk-ins on a first come, first served basis. We cannot guarantee you an artist will be available, but we will try our best to tattoo you the same day you walk-in.

TATTOO APPOINTMENTS
Option 1  (BEST OPTION): Walk-in for a consultation without an appointment and either make an appointment for a future date or we will try to tattoo you the same day if time permits.

*PLEASE INCLUDE
• Artist preference.
• The image of what you want.
• Approximate size in inches.
• Placement.
• Preferred day and time (same day appointments may be available). 
• Any additional information you’d like incorporated into the design. 

DEPOSIT INFO

Deposits are non-refundable. Any money deposited for an appointment will be put towards the total price of the tattoo. The artist will not accept any other clients during the time of your appointment. In turn, if you reschedule your appointment with less than 24 hours' notice, then the deposit will be forfeited. If you cancel or no show for your appointment, then the deposit will be forfeited as well. Rescheduling appointments 24 hours prior to the scheduled appointment will have no penalty fee. Changing ideas on drawings from one design to a completely different idea will be charged a drawing fee which will vary from design to design. Sorry, no exceptions.

BEFORE YOUR TATTOO

48 HOURS BEFORE YOUR APPOINTMENT


An online consent form will be sent to you 48 hours before your appointment:

• Please confirm your appointment and complete the consent form for the appointment.

• You must be 18 years old or older to get tattooed. Please bring a valid ID to your appointment.


Please call the shop to reschedule your appointment:

• If you are sick or have symptoms (i.e. cough, shortness of breath or difficulty breathing, fever, chills, muscle pains, sore throat, new loss of taste or smell).

• If you have recently been in contact with someone with Coronavirus.


THE DAY OF YOUR APPOINTMENT


SKIN PREP

• No lotion, makeup, bronzer, sunscreen on the location of the tattoo.

• If you are tattooing a large area, we suggest shaving the area 1 hour before coming in for the tattoo (but we can do it for you if you're unable to).


CLOTHING

•  You may need to be in uncomfortable positions, so please wear loose clothing. And wearing comfortable clothing gives your tattooer easy access to the area being tattooed.

• If you are getting your arm tattooed we suggest wearing a sleeveless shirt. If you are getting your leg tattooed, we suggest wearing shorts. If you are getting your back tattooed, for women we suggest backless shirts or string bikini top. You can bring a button down shirt to wear backwards if you’d like. 


FOOD

• Eat a light lunch before the tattoo. Low blood sugar may cause lightheadedness, so it’s best to have some food in your system.

• No aspirin or blood thinners (unless medically instructed). This will limit your bleeding and prevent loss of ink. Avoid drinking alcohol and coffee for at least 24 hours before getting tattooed.


AT THE TATTOO SHOP

• Bring a valid form of ID (unexpired Driver's License, Passport, government issued identification card or military identification.)

• You must be 18 or older to get a tattoo in California (regardless of parental consent).

• No kids or anyone under 18 are allowed in the tattoo area. 

• One guest can come with you while getting tattooed. Additional guests can wait outside or in the waiting room. No unattended kids allowed.

• No cigarettes, vaping or chew allowed in the building.

• No food or drinks are allowed in tattoo area.

• No talking on cellphones in the tattoo area (the combination of loud music and tattoo machines makes for loud phone conversations). 

• If you'd like to listen to music or videos on your phone, please bring headphones/EarPods.

• No animals are allowed in the building (Only certified ADA service animals are allowed for the person getting tattooed). 

Sorry, no comfort animals or support animals are allowed in the tattoo shop per California State Law AB 300 Safe Body Art Act – California Health and Safety Code Section 119307 et seq.. Beginning on March 15, 2011, only dogs are recognized as service animals under titles II (State and local government services) and III (public accommodations and commercial facilities) of the ADA. TATTOO AFTERCARE

 AFTERCARE TIPS:

There is more than one way to heal a tattoo. The above instructions are our recommendations. 

On average it takes 2-3 weeks to heal your tattoo, but everyone heals at different rates. 

Your results may vary depending on your age, diet, health, as well as the size and placement of your tattoo and choice of dressing/bandage.

Your tattoo is an open wound. Keep your tattoo clean and only touch it with washed hands. 

FOR THE NEXT 2-3 WEEKS (or until fully healed):
•No swimming, soaking, or sun.
•Avoid gardening.
•Avoid contact with animals.
•No make-up or restrictive clothing on or around the tattoo.

The tattoo will begin to flake and peel. DO NOT PICK OR SCRATCH it. This will cause scarring and/or loss of pigment.

Lower extremities are particularly vulnerable to swelling. It’s usually nothing to be concerned about, but it may be uncomfortable. If you experience swelling just rest, elevate your feet and ice it.

Signs and symptoms of an infection include, but not limited to: extreme redness, swelling, tenderness of the procedure site, red streaks going from the procedure site towards the heart, elevated body temperature or purulent drainage from the procedure site. These are signs and symptoms that indicate the need to seek medical care.

Q & A

Q: CAN I GET TATTOOED IF I HAVE DIABETES?

A: There is an increased risk of infection and the healing process may take longer for people with diabetes. Please talk to your doctor first and make sure your blood sugar levels are under control.

Q: CAN I GET TATTOOED IF I'M ON BLOOD THINNERS?

A: Blood thinners prevent blood from clotting which increases the amount of blood loss during and after getting the tattoo. It may take longer to heal your tattoo which increases the chances of infection. It may also thin the ink which may cause the tattoo to migrate in the skin. Please talk to your doctor first. (Types of blood thinners: Aspirin, fish oil, alcohol, vitamin E, coffee, etc.)

Q: AM I TOO OLD TO GET TATTOOED?

A: You're never too old to get a tattoo! But some things to consider are if you are taking medications that thin your blood or any pre-existing conditions. And as we age our skin becomes thinner, so it may affect the appearance of the tattoo. Please talk to your doctor first.
